| Biotite is a mineral which belongs to monoclinic system (one of mineral crystals, two axes among the three axes are inclined to meet and the other axis is perpendicular to two axes. The crystal form has different lengths of three axes. It forms tubular shape or a scale pattern and usually it has a shape like a hexagon or rhombohedra. The color is black, brown and greenish black and split side creates a pearly luster and sometimes metallic luster.

◆ Biotite was considered the best among thousands of medicinal ingredients in the medicine books (collection of regulations; Hyangyak Jipseongbang) that were written in years during the reign of King Sejong.
◆ Because Biotite contains a large quantity of germanium, it was recognized as a mysterious mineral and was only known to the royal family and nobleman in olden times. Also, the emissivity of far-infrared radiation (94%) is three times higher than red clay and elvan. It is a miracle crystal which removes carcinogens and is especially emitted from heated Chinese natural jade and cement, known as yakdol.
